I came here for lunch on a Saturday. Good selection of sushi (nigiri and rolls) and hot foods. I've never seen hibachi included in a buffet before, so that cool. The desserts are also pretty good. I didn't even look at the price before sitting, but was expecting to pay around $15. I was very pleasantly surprised to find out it was just $11. If you go on http://couponclipper.com, it's only $10. I am looking forward to coming back.

After an extended weekend skiing, nothing hit the spot more than all you can eat sushi buffet to keep you full for the 3 hr ride home. We stopped by around 12:30 on a Sunday, and it was slightly packed (which to me is always a good sign).

As someone else said, it's Albany, and I wasn't expecting much, but I was greatly surprised.  The fish quality was decent and the sushi chefs always made sure to make another roll after we had eaten them all.  I skipped the hot food section, why bother at a sushi place?  I was a little disappointed in the dessert selection, but there was this coffee chocolate little cake that was amazing. I think their green tea ice cream is home made since it became bitter as we finished eating it.

Very happy we stopped.  xD

I've been there half a dozen times for the lunch buffet.  Yeah, the hot food choices are a little more limited than other Asian buffets but wow...quality beats quantity.  The sushi is awesome but even if you don't touch the stuff, the hot food choices are fantastic.  This place is the Gold Standard for Asian buffets and noone comes close in the Capital District.  (I do wish the waitresses would be more ready to refill your drink, but thats why I always order a water too in these places..but thats a quibble.)

K-Comments : My friend and I are area sushi crazy people. We head out for sushi somewhere, at least twice a month. Almost always we find ourselves talking about how we\'d eat it every day if we could afford it, how great it makes us feel after eating it, and just that we thoroughly enjoy it. When I saw that Nikko was open, I knew we had to check it out. When I saw that the prices were so unbelievably reasonable for a buffet, I wanted to go right away. Well, as many others have said, we were so far from being disappointed it\'s not funny! (We all know how buffets can be hit-or-miss sometimes... Nikko is a true hit!) The variety and freshness of the sushi was impressive enough, but then to see garlic lobster, huge crab legs, grilled seafood and meats, salads, fresh fruit... it was insane how amazing everything looked and tasted. After we were stuffed, our waitress came over and very sweetly asked if we\'d like some ice cream to end our meal. My friend looked around for one of those soft-serve \"ice cream\" (ha - more like frozen milk) machines, and hadn\'t seen one. She laughed and said, \"Oh no, I can bring it to you. Would you like green tea, red bean, chocolate, or strawberry?\" We looked at each other and both chose green tea, and it was WONDERFUL. I promised her I\'d tell all my friends, and I have. Within 24 hours. It\'s amazing, don\'t question it, if you\'re up for a night out somewhere nice, with great food and atmosphere, definitely give Nikko a try!

Simply the best buffet in the area , and by area i mean the planet. But seriously this week i stopped in for lunch and was shocked at the quality of the service and selection . Usually  lunch buffets are sparse and the food tends to sit out . Not the case at NIkko's  the sushi is made fresh right before your eyes . The team of chefs  kept just enough out for me and the other diners. Another typical scene at a lunch buffet  is rather unexciting sushi , cali rolls , veggie rolls ect . Again not the case at Nikko's . Rainbow Rolls , Godzilla Rolls , Happy rolls , shrimp tempura, just to name a few , were all made fresh and put out for us as fast as we could eat them . Stone crab  and the braised short ribs were another  hit  but everything was  great . I was impressed.

Tonight my Girlfriend and i went for the dinner buffet . now keep in mind i had pumped the place up for a couple days and raved about how much i loved it ...and also keep in mind  we haunt  some of the  other local  buffets  and can run up quite  the bill when we order in sushi . Even with all the hype i had generated  we were both in for a shock .  the Sushi selection  was top quality  with  really complex specialty rolls galore. Super fresh Raw clams and oysters on tap , Shrimp and Vegetable tempura , BBQ Squid ,Lobster in ginger garlic ,Shogun Shrimp , The Baked Scallops were addictive   , and the Stone and  Snow crab was done perfectly and  the legs and claws were generally larger than I have seen on buffet .  I could go on and on .... but really  just Do yourself a favor and go to this place for Lunch or Dinner .  BY FAR  the best . indoor and outdoor seating . next time i am going to try the Hibachi  buffet combo for just 5 more bucks

This was my first time in Albany and what perfect timing! My cousin wanted to bring me here because he knew I loved Japanese food. The layout of the restaurant is really nice. A huuuuge rectangular unit in the center with the foods: sushi, meat dishes, salads, desserts, fruits, vegetables, etc etc etc. It's a pretty huge place. I heard that the owner of this establishment once worked at Dragon Buffet only a few hundred feet away.

The service was nice- waiters and waitresses came by the table regularly (not at an annoying way) to clear your used plates or refill drinks. Lunch was $10 per person and dinner is $21 per person. You can add hibachi to the dinner buffet by just adding $5.

They had tons of sushi options (and not just the lame CA rolls or the Philadelphia rolls) and they were pretty good at refilling the empty plates on the buffet table. There were many noodle dishes, soup, chicken and beef and pork, some mussles and clams, sashimi, nigiri, tempura, potstickers, siumai... you name it! their dessert side was pretty great but mostly puff type (cream puffs, eclairs). PLENTY of fresh fruits!
Thanks Nikko for showing me that Albany has great food choices!

I have eaten there 5 times since it opened 2 weeks ago. If I could, I would eat here everyday for the rest of my life. The selection of sushi, seafood, cooked foods and dessert are overwhelming. Frankly, I can’t believe they can do all this at the price they are charging. There are no other restaurants, buffet or not, that can surpass the bang for the buck that Nikko offers. I went last Saturday night and only after 2 weeks of opening, the place was full to capacity. I had Hibachi that night and Helen, our waitress, was probably the funniest and most attentive waitress I have ever had. I added teh buffet to my hibachi steak for $5! I also met Bill, the pleasant manager who stopped by at every table to chat with his guest and to make sure that everyone was happy with their meals. He was even able to stop a crying brat that was disturbing everyone around that table by offering paper umbrellas to distract her! Bravo Bill! Keep up what you’re doing Nikko and thanks for bringing this fresh concept to Albany!

Went last night too. Thoroughly enjoyed it. There were so many choices. Fish and oyster were fresh. I love that you can get a small bowl of udon. The dumplings were soft and do not taste like it’s bulked up with flour. About the only thing not really great are the tempura and that could be anything fried tends to become soggy pretty quick. Cooked food was a bit on the salty side, but that happens with buffets. It prevents people from eating too much. Just pace yourself between the cooked and raw stuffs and you’ll have a great time.

We went tonight – it really is very good. You can get a “combo” of hibachi and sushi for a ridiculous price…like the regular buffet is 21.95, and you can get Hibachi chicken and buffet for like 23.95 or so.
Sushi was very good, have to say. Very fresh, made consistently, maybe 12 or so different rolls, pieces, sashimi, etc. Seafood dishes were good – had tempura, homemade soups, etc. Plus, some salads (?), and the status quo of buffet fruit and dessert. But, the sushi was very good, very fresh – and we got hibachi for a very small amount more, which was as good as other hibachi places.
Very clean, nice and friendly staff…would go back again.

Simply awesome! Best sushi in the area. The buffet has big variety. We went for dinner and they had lobster, scallops and crab legs on the buffet. All you can eat! They also have hibachi tables in the back. You must try it to believe it.

For those of you who are true sushi/seafood lovers, you cannot pass this place up! The sushi is the best I’ve had in this area…very fresh and well made. All of the food is fresh and delicious! I went for lunch one day and was amazed at the selection. Went back the next day for dinner and did hibachi with the buffet added for only $5 extra…great deal! The dinner buffet had king crab legs, scallops….very delightful and delicious all around. This is the first true all you can eat sushi buffet in the capital district. I highly recommend it!
